Special Use Airspace Schedule Data Gateway (SUA/GW)
Data Format Description
The information provided here is subject to change without notice.
Last modified on May 25, 2021
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) program office, AJM-336, provides access to schedules of Special Use Airspace to registered users of the SUA Schedule Data Gateway at the following Uniform Resource Locator (URL)s:
https://sua.faa.gov/datafeed/suagw/n24sua?user=<username>&pwd=<password>
https://sua.faa.gov/datafeed/suagw/n24sua_routes?user=<username>&pwd=<password>
The first URL provides all non-Military Training Route (MTR) reservations scheduled for activation in the next 24 hours. The second URL also includes MTR reservations. The schedule datasets are updated once per minute.
The
returned datasets are structured as described below. It is expected that
software, rather than individuals, will process each dataset.
Overall Dataset Structure
[total record count] request timestamp
# disclaimer
# response timestamp
schedule record
schedule record
...
schedule record
# disclaimer
Line 1 of the dataset displays the total record count, followed by a timestamp indicating when the HTTPS data request was made. |
The number of schedule records returned is the total record count minus 3, as the dataset also includes 2 disclaimer lines and a second timestamp. The timestamp on line 1 is formatted as follows: DDD MMM DOM HH:MI:SS YYYY UTC |
Line 2 displays a disclaimer message. |
Line 3 displays the dataset generation timestamp. The timestamp for line 3 is formatted as follows: #[DOM/MMM/YYYY:HH:MI:SS +0000] |
Lines 4 through total record count are the airspace reservations scheduled for activation in the next 24 hours. |
The final line displays a second disclaimer message. |
SUA Schedule Formats
There are 10 parameters defined for SUA schedule
records. There are two primary types of schedules: 1) non-MTR
airspace schedules, and 2) MTR schedules. MTR schedules are only included
in the n24sua_routes datafeed. The first seven
parameters of all schedules are the same, with the low/high altitude values in
a non-MTR schedule (parameters 8 and 9) being replaced by alphabetic entry/exit
point labels in an MTR schedule. The separation rule is always parameter 10.

Known Issues
The Low Altitude value (in 100’s of feet) may be either Above Ground Level (AGL) or Mean Sea Level (MSL). The High Altitude value (in 100’s of feet) may be either inclusive or exclusive (up to but not including). Consult the latest FAA JO 7400.10 published airspace definitions to confirm accurate altitude limits.
